MALLORY ALVERSON

Mallory Alverson, crowned in June as Miss South Carolina Teen Volunteer, is a senior at Dorman High School in Spartanburg, SC! After high school, she plans to study political science at the University of South Carolina to become a criminal defense lawyer. She is a 6-time national dance champion, and this past summer, she was honored to be selected as a delegate for the esteemed ALA Palmetto Girls State Program. There, she was named Superintendent of Education for the nationalist party!

A fun fact about her is that at the age of 15, she had full reconstructive hip surgery. She had a strong desire to compete for the Miss South Carolina Teen Volunteer title because every emblem of this organization represents key qualities she sees in herself and wants to share with others! She strongly believes in getting her “hands dirty” in her community by volunteering! Her S.E.R.V.E initiative is Mal’s Mission: Identify, Connect, and Conquer. Mal’s Mission is a step-by-step process of identifying a disability and connecting with the resources in your community to conquer it, not only today, but also tomorrow! Growing up with a reading disability, she has struggled in silence for so many years, and now she gets to advocate for the 1 in 5 children who feel the same!
